Srinagar, Feb 29 (KNO): Continuing its action against drug peddlers, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla on Thursday said to have attached a property belonging to notorious drug peddler in the district.
“Police in Baramulla attached property (Single storied residential house worth approx. Rs 15 lacs) belonging to notorious drug peddler namely Afroza Begum @ Affri wife of Fayaz Ahmad Dar resident of Ganie Hamam at present Trumgund Hygam Sopore, District Baramulla,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & is linked with case under FIR number 238/2023 under section 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Baramulla, police said.
The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation, enquiry conducted by Police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the drug peddler, police said.
This operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Police, police added—(KNO)
